When Bathurst Cycling Club legend Graham Stait passed away in 2021, a memorial race was instigated in his honour. Graham was a very tough racer, and the Graham Stait Memorial had to be a hard race.
The second running of the race will be held on Saturday 6th May.
A generous prize pool is on offer for this race, totalling over $800. First place $150 and cash prizes being paid all the way down to 10th place, plus additional cash on offer for fastest time and fastest female rider.
Enter via the Calendar page and test yourself on this great course. The route is 57km with flowing fast undulating sections and a tough uphill finish.

The 2023 Graham Stait Memorial Handicap sounds like a great event for anyone who enjoys following local racing and the stories behind these memorial races. Events like this often bring plenty of interest, especially when they honour someone who made an impact on the racing community. It is also a good reminder of how much tradition and community spirit are part of Australian racing. I came across austarlabs while browsing related content, which was an interesting addition to the discussion. Overall, it looks like a race with plenty of history and a meaningful reason behind it.
