BCC Scratch Race - 4th March 2012

By Bathurst Cycling Club - March 05 2012

The wet conditions didn’t stop a good quality field lining up in the Bcc Scratch Races on the weekend with 4 separate grades contested.

In a very exciting finish current NSW Junior representative Harry Carter won the A Grade from Steve Bennett and Blair Windsor after 2 groups came together in the final stages of the tough event. It was Carter first win in the top grade and it couldn’t have come at a better time for the promising Under 17 rider who in a little over a week will contest the 2012 National Junior Track Cycling Championships with Bathurst team mate Hollee Simons (u17 women category) in Melbourne.

There was also plenty of action in B Grade with strong man Mark Simon caught in the closing stages where consistent performer Damien Bennett sprinted home for the win in front of the rapidly improving Geoff Short with Simons in third.

Chris Davis took out the c Grade event from Paddy Corcoran, while Ali Corcoran won the D Grade race.
