BCC 3 Roads Graded Scratch Race Results 13 May 2017

By Road Sub-Committee - May 15 2017

A good field of 34 riders entered the 36.4 km event including 4 riders from Orange CC.

A Grade was closely fought but Craig Hutton took the race with a 1 sec lead on Tim Guy from Orange and Harry Carter. 1st to 6th place was only separated by 8 sec.

B Grade was another closely fought race with a bunch of 9 riders entering St. John’s lane together. Unfortunately Glen Partridge flat tyred on the railway crossing and was out. That left 8 riders to contest the final 2km. A strong finish by Graeme Peadon saw him take a narrow win over Dave Reece and the ever resourceful Rob Stephen. 1st to 7th place was only separated by 7 sec.

Toireasa Gallagher had a strong win in C Grade, finishing 13 sec ahead of Kalinda Robinson who fought hard to stay ahead of Greg Willis.

D Grade was won by Rosemary Hasting ahead of Martin Guy from Orange and Norman Wise.

Good to see Orange CC riders coming over to Bathurst for the road races. The father and son team of Martin and Tim Guy from Orange both collected money with their 2nd places in D & A Grades respectively. Orange CC is having difficulties holding road races in their town so more riders may venture to Bathurst in the future.
