BCC 2017 Anzac Day Cup - 2 Roads Combined Hcp

Anzac Day 2017 was commemorated by the Bathurst Cycle Club with the running of the Anzac Day Memorial Trophy Race. Before the race Mark Windsor spoke of the story of John McKay (not to be confused with Club legend Jack McKay) a member of BCC who died fighting in WW1.

At the time of WW1, 70% of the BCC members enlisted for war.

The trophy race was well attended with a record number of 53 entrants!

The all in handicap race was run over the 2 Roads course of 26.3km.

First across the line by a 1 sec margin was Harry Carter in a time of 36:36 ahead of Bill Hutton and Mark Windsor a further 1 sec behind.

Fastest rider was Josh Corcoran in 8th place with a time of 35:37.

First lady across the line was Hollee Simons in 6th place in a time of 44:35. Fastest lady was Kirsten Howard in 9th place in a very fast time of 37:09.
